Kai Trump will have multiple well-known backers when she begins her LPGA debut this Thursday.

This teenage golfer, who happens to be the granddaughter of Donald Trump, was granted a tournament invitation to play at the Annika competition in Florida.

The former president, a passionate golfer, possesses numerous golf courses and regularly competes against Kai.

"He's pretty good. I can't say much but we have competitive games," she revealed.

Kai explained that her grandfather, who cannot attend, told her: "Simply avoid anxiety."

"He basically told me to play and have fun," she added.

"From my perspective, he's simply a regular grandfather. He won't be there for the tournament. He's occupied with presidential duties, so he's rather occupied."

While still amateur, the golfer has competed in a mere three competitions recently and has the 461st position in AJGA rankings.

But she's able to seek guidance from Tiger Woods, in a relationship with Kai's mother.

"He stands as the top athlete in the world," the young golfer said.

"Furthermore, he's a superior person. He told me to compete, have fun, adapting to the flow."

Kai will face some of most prominent players in women's golf at the Annika, such as world number two the champion, England's Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and 2023 champion Lilia Vu.

The LPGA mentioned that Kai's presence helps introduce the sport to new audiences, specifically among the next generation.

The young star has millions of followers and just introduced a personal apparel and wellness label.

Her first tee time at 17:30 GMT.
