No less than 64 civilians were killed in a police operation cracking down on the organized crime group in the Brazilian city's northern districts - the largest and deadliest raid in the Brazilian state's records.

Four police officers were included in the fatalities during the police action in the Alemão and Penha districts, local authorities said. In excess of 80 people were arrested.
