Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed missile attacks throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a large-scale and ongoing offensive targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone near the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any impact is unclear and the American officials has not commented.
Airspace Engagements
In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - stated they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their airspace.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
IRGC Statement
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was attacking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the strikes on Iran initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That preceding assault - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted locations associated with the Iranian leadership, with President Trump encouraging the people of Iran to revolt against the regime.

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses engaged the missiles with great effectiveness and successfully intercepted a number of missiles," the statement continued.
Officials reported wreckage fell on a residential area in the capital, causing some structural damage and fatalities.
The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
